Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Political Science in the School of Government and International Affairs with a preferred start date of August 2027. This is a nine-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in one or more of the Political Science subfields, teaching courses of variable size and modalities, including large class sizes, and classes taught at the Marietta campus. Service to department, college, university, and profession. Developing and maintaining a productive program of research in Asian Politics and/or Middle East Politics. Publishing scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals and disseminating research findings through professional presentations and other scholarly outlets. Seeking external funding to support research and scholarly activity.
Required qualifications include a Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related discipline at the time of hire. Demonstrated experience teaching in-person, online, and/or hybrid courses. Demonstrated evidence of scholarship activities pertaining to Asian Politics and/or Middle East Politics.
Preferred qualifications include a record of past teaching at undergraduate and/or graduate level, potential to obtain external funding to support research, ability to teach introductory courses in Political Science, and demonstrated regional expertise in Asian and/or Middle East politics.
