Job Description

3D Generalist (Mid-Level)

DLVR is a VR game studio built by gamers for gamers. We create immersive worlds and live experiences that keep players engaged, surprised, and connected. We're one of the biggest and top earning VR game studios in the world with heavy hitter titles like BIG BALLER and Animal Rivals.

We're looking for a mid-level 3D Generalist to create polished, game-ready artwork for our VR experiences.

You'll work across characters, environments, props, and live content, taking assets from concept or reference through modeling, texturing, optimization, and implementation in Unity. You'll collaborate with artists, designers, developers, and animators to create a cohesive visual experience that looks great and performs reliably in VR.

This role suits a versatile artist who can work independently within an established art direction, respond constructively to feedback, and balance visual quality with real-time performance.

What You'll Do
  • Create high-quality 3D assets for gameplay, live operations, marketing, and promotional content
  • Model and texture characters, environments, props, and other in-game assets
  • Take assets from concept or reference through final implementation in Unity
  • Set up materials, prefabs, lighting, and other presentation elements in-engine
  • Optimize geometry, textures, materials, and shaders for VR performance
  • Work within established technical constraints, naming conventions, and asset budgets
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, artists, and animators to ensure assets support gameplay and production requirements
  • Maintain a consistent visual style across new and existing content
  • Participate in art reviews and iterate on work in response to creative and technical feedback
  • Contribute practical improvements to the team's art pipeline and documentation
  • Create occasional 2D assets, icons, or promotional artwork where project needs and your skills align
What We're Looking For
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating versatile, production-ready 3D artwork
  • Professional experience creating assets for games or other real-time interactive products
  • Hands-on experience implementing and optimizing assets in Unity
  • Proficiency in Blender and relevant texturing or 3D-production tools
  • A practical understanding of real-time rendering, polygon budgets, texture budgets, materials, lighting, and draw-call optimization
  • Strong knowledge of composition, color, form, lighting, and visual storytelling
  • The ability to work within an established art direction while making sound creative decisions
  • Experience taking assets through multiple stages of a production pipeline
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team
  • The ability to organize your workload, incorporate feedback, and deliver polished work within sprint deadlines
Nice to Have
  • Experience developing specifically for VR or other performance-constrained platforms
  • Experience with mobile, free-to-play, or live-service games
  • Skills in concept art, illustration, or character design
  • Experience with animation, rigging, shaders, VFX, or motion design
  • Experience creating marketing or promotional artwork
  • Familiarity with responsible uses of AI-assisted tools in a professional creative workflow
Working at DLVR
  • Working hours: Must be able work 3-5 hours during Eastern Time work hours
  • Reports to: Art Lead
How to Apply

Please submit your résumé and portfolio. Where possible, include examples that explain your contribution, process, tools, technical constraints, and the final in-game result.
